If you will gather some information and bring it with you to the meeting, it will help greatly. We need to discuss:
1 -- your total gross income for the last 6 months (pay stubs are best, but otherwise anything that will show the income). If you are married, the total gross income of your spouse, even if he or she is not going to file with you.
2 -- a list of anything you owe to anybody. When in doubt, include it!
3 -- your monthly expenses. Everything from housing to insurance to food and clothing.
4 -- also, if you have any secured debts like mortgages or car loans, we will need to learn about those (date of loan, interest rate, length of loan, etc.)
